Her art Targeted Art A versatile artist, Diana is driven by a curiosity for art techniques and production methods ranging from traditional fine arts to motion digital media and 3-D animation. In her work for the entertainment and advertisement industry Diana maintains a constant focus on the visual concept through which the story is developed and embellished. Along with her artistic talent, Diana lends to every project a layer of practicality, including organizational and motivational skills. This sets her aside from many artists and allows her to succeed both creatively - visual pre-production research, conceptualization and previsualization - and practically - organizing presentations, supervising production and delivering a finished product that matches the planned concept. Her bio
Early Career Diana Ortega Arrambide was born in Mexico City in 1971. Daughter of a set designer, she started her career helping her father with storyboards, concept sketches and decorating sets. Keen Eye In 1994 Diana earned a degree in Graphic Design and got her first job - Commercial Photo Retouching for international ad agencies at Estudio Segarra, Mexico City. She was soon promoted to Art Director. Seeing the World In 1996, after completing an artistically inspired postgraduate study in Contemporary Art, she decided to travel. After a long stay in Germany and the Cayman Islands (BWI) she moved to the United States. In 1998, joined Miami Art Works where she opened her own Art Studio producing large-scale paintings and teaching life drawing. Tipping Point In 2000, she was hired by The Discovery Channel as a Graphics Producer. Among her responsibilities was production of on air and off air marketing promos for the five Discovery Networks. In 2002 Diana was credited as Set Designer for a show that aired at The Discovery Channel. This last project stimulated her to incorporate 3-D technology and motion software into her pre-production / pre-visualization work. Getting Specialized In 2004 Diana completed an M.F.A. in Animation (School of Film and Digital Media) at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Reaching a Goal In 2004, Diana was employed as Production Designer on the independent feature film “Red Thread” (produced by Stratton Leopold and directed by Teddy Sharkova Pashikov). Diana's many artistic skills were finally combined with 3D technology and put to work into the pre-production of this project. Current Events She has recently worked as a freelance Art Director for on-air advertisement and is currently working as Production Designer for the musical stage production “Spellbound” (executive produced by Paul Deakin). Near Future Diana is in the completion stage of her first animated short film. She is also preparing to start work on her next feature film production. “For me, few things are more rewarding than seeing
